Mini MAC Haul

Hey everyone!

If you watch me on youtube ( youtube.com/kayyleiggh), you will know that I had a list of things I wanted my Mum to get for me while she was down in Edinburgh. We don't have a MAC up here so the closest is Glasgow and Edinburgh which are both a 2-3 hour journey away, I know it sucks!

Anyways...after a lot of begging my Mum went to the MAC shop for me :) My shopping list consisted of the shadows (pan form) of Carbon, All That Glitter, Shroom and Twinks. I also wanted Creme D Nude lipstick. She phoned me when she was there and to my disappointment they didn't stock the pan forms so all I could do was to buy them in the container, de pot them, add a magnet and then add it to my palette - also costing me £3 more per shadow. Eh I don't think so! So Mum got me the lipstick and I left it at that.

I decided that I couldn't possibly live without these eyeshadows (yeh ok....lol) so I ordered them off the internet and paid to get them delivered on Friday but they didn't turn up until the Monday! But I sorted it out with MAC and they refunded my delivery charge woohoo!

I present to you my new MAC shadow....woohoo! :)

Top Left - Right : Carbon, Twinks, Shroom
Bottom Left - Right : Tempting, Woodwinked, All That Glitters

Tempting and Woodwinked were not new shadows, I bought these a few weeks ago.

And onto the swatches....

So from left to right we have All That Glitters, Shroom, Twinks and Carbon.

These were nothing like what I thought they would be like but I'm happy with them.

All That Glitters - a frosty and shimmery pinky/beige colour - a lot browner than I thought in the pan but doesn't transfer as dark onto the lids. Perfect lid colour!

Shroom - A pearly white/cream colour. I really hoped this would of been more pigmented as I wanted to use it as a brow bone colour to blend out my shadows and harsh lines but its a beautiful tearduct colour so it does have some use :)

Twinks - A deep burgendy colour, a mix of brown, purple and red! This reminds me of what I thought Cranberry would look like but with a tad more brown. Perfect for the outer half of the lid and perfect for fall!

Carbon - not as pigmented as I thought it would be but this isnt a bad thing! Its perfet for deepening the crease and creating a smokey eye as it blends easily as its not too strongly pigmented.

And here is my Creme D Nude lipstick (check the pic at the end to see it on the lips)

This is a gorgous creamy nude but with a hit of peach/pink. This doesn't wash you out and doesn't create the concealer lip effect as its still a warm nude. Reminds me of GOSH darling but with a better staying power.

I asked my Mum to get me a sample of the Studio Finish Concealer as I wanted to try the cosistency before I splash out and buy my own pot.

I have to say I am quite enjoying this! I find it better to use on blemishes as I find it can be a little cakey on larger areas but overall I can definately see myself purchasing the full size version.
And here is the eye look I created with my new shadows, check out my youtube for the tutorial ( youtube.com/kayyleiggh ).

I used Woodwinked on the outer corner darkened with a little bit of Carbon and Tempting. All That Glitters on the inner lid and on the brow bone I used the cream colour from my Victoria Jackson eyes have it palette.

And just for fun times heres the full face shot complete with Creme D Nude lipstick!

Thank for reading! Have a great week and an even better Halloween!

Products I'm loving right now....<3

Hope everyones having a good week!

I made a video for my youtube channel (which I will be uploading tomorrow) about my top products I can'y live without so I thought I'd share with you guys some of my favourite products at the moment!

My youtube channel is www.youtube.com/kayyleiggh if anyone is interested in having a look :)

Anyways onto the products...this is going to be a longggg post just warning you now :)

The first product is by GOSH. GOSH is only available in the UK but you can shop online for their products too. My first love from there is GOSH lipstick in darling, I can't say enough good things about this! But today its a different product, it's a velvet touch eyeliner in 006 Bananas.

So you can see in the picture this a creamy yellow with a metallic type sheen. I love this in the tearduct and on the waterline, it really opens the eyes and makes them sparkle :)

The second product is Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara. I keep repurchasing this mascara as I love it so much! Its very precise and creates long lashes which you can build for thickness.

This how it look on the eye and this was applied at 7am and its now 9pm! It really holds and looks great and its cheap!
The next product is a tool rather than a product and it is my handy dandy eyelash curlers! I bought these from Primark for £1, bargain! I don't believe in spending loads of money on curlers, they all do the same to be honest!

These really hold the curl and are an absolute bargain.
I bought this product yesterday and I'm on love already - Vaseline Rosy Lips (aka the pink tin).

I love love LOVE the smell of this, its a rose type smell but I think it has a very slight hint of fruit in there somewhere. It leaves the lips with a subtle pink gloss and moisturises them so well. Its slightly more expensive than the original Vaseline at £2 but its still worth the money I think.

The next product is also another product I picked up yesterday but I am very fond of already. This is the Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch. I never wear concealer as I feel my foundation does a pretty good job at covering so I'm really not sure why I actually picked this product up, I wasn't even expecting it to work!

I tried this underneath my eye area and it really seems to lighten it up. I use the brush to dab on a few dots and then I use a stipple like motion to pat it into my skin. Its obviously no Touch Eclat but for £4 I ain't complaining!
My next product is one I have been using for a good few months now. Its the Benefits Coralista blush. This is a coral/pink with a gold sheen to it, very pretty indeed! It gives a beautiful and natural glow to the face. I usually apply a pink blush and then lightly apply this over the top to even out the colour and blend the colour into my face. I have used this over Benefit Throb, Maybelline mineral blush in Moonlight Mauve and Estee Lauder Rose Nuance and it just finishes off the look perfectly, there hasn't been a day since I have bought this that I havent paired it with one of my pink blushes.

At £22 this isn't the cheapest product, it is quite expensive but I have used this everyday for at least 3-4 months and as you can see I have barely even dented the blush so think of it more of an investment rather than a splurge :), possibly something to get as a Christmas present!

I mentioned the next product just above and this is Estee Lauders Rose Nuance. I actually got this product free after complaning abou their foundation (we're having a bit of a love/hate relationship at the moment...).

I love this blush! Its a rosy pink colour that gradients into white. I wasn't sure of this at first but I applied it to my cheeks and found it came in quite handy. You can almost custom mix how bright or natural you want your blush, the only trouble is matching both your cheeks but practice makes perfect! So moral of the story - its always worth complaining if you don't like something, you never know what you may receive! I can see this becoming an expensive love as this comes in at £22!
Now lets take a second to compare this with the Benefits Coralista...
Benefit = £22 = 12g/0.42 oz
Estee Lauder = £22 =5g/0.17 oz
Hmmm now I wonder which is the better deal...lol!
And finally we have two nail polishes. These are Barry M's 295 Turquoise and 294 Cyan.

We have Cyan on the left and Turquoise on the right. I bought Cyan a month or two ago and was very impressed with the staying power - I'm talking 2 weeks with no chipping or fading (although possibly something to do with my fake nails...).
I bought Turquoise yesterday and also love this colour too! Its more of a sky blue compared to the Cyan which is much deeper.

And this is turquoise on my very short but growing nails, no more fakies! It very true to the bottle and I love ths consistancy, not too think but not too thin. This is with two coats. I have had it on since yesterday and have been going about my life as usual and I can assure you there has been no chips so far :)
So that is all for my products I'm loving, of course there are many more but I think this blog is long enough!

Eyeshadow Haul :)

Two blog posts in one evening :) what a good blogger I am...lol

Anyways...Many many years ago (well about 5...) I used to wear heavy eyeliner and loads of eyeshadow but as I got more and more into makeup I just didn't like the look of eyeshadow on myself. I loved watching the tutorials on youtube but whenever I wore eyeshadow myself I felt like a clown.

I'm trying to break away from this and start using eyeshadows so I decided to buy myself some new shadows for some inspiration.

So I started my adventure at TK Maxx and here are the goodies I found...

First off we have Benefit products...
From left to right we have -
Fishnets - a dark matte chocolate brown, perfect for the crease instead of black.
Low Profile - a creamy matte beige, I tried this on my lid with a shimmery shadow nearer the edge of my eye which turned out ok but meh I'm not sure about this one yet...

Pre-nup - creaseless cream shadow/liner, I love these! They are shimmery and can be used as a base or on its own. This is one a deep rose/coppery brown sort of colour. I don't know what else to say, these are just sooo nice :)

Anyway onto prices...I got the eyeshadows for £5.99 each, I can't remember off the top of my head what they retail for but my guess is £10-£12. I got the creaseless cream shadow/liner for £7.99 and again my guess is probably around £15 for these. There are a few blushers and other Benefit products in TK Maxx just now (not just my local one, the Glasgow one had these products too) so if you want to try these out now is the time to do so!

Now it was time to hit Boots! Here are the two shadows I picked up...
On the top is No,7's Truffle (65). Its a medium brown with shimmer running through it. Its quite pigmented, not extremely but good enough. This was £7 but I got it for £2 with a £5 off voucher you are getting from Boots at the moment (otherwise I think I would of passed this one up...). I just can't condone selling a "boots own" brand for that ammount of money.

Underneath we have number 17's statuesque. This is a pinky beige colour in almost a metallic form. It is very pigmented and for £3.19 (the £3 is right but the pence may be wrong) I can't complain!

Now because my university is right next to TK Maxx I couldn't help but to go in the next day for another peek. This time I found another creasless cream shadow/liner in Bunny Hop, a gorgeous creamy brown/beige with shimmers and blue undertones - yum! I had this before but left the top off and dried it up :(

Here is the swatch of Bunny Hop
And here is my lovely dried up Bunny Hop with its new friend :)

So after all this I decided it was time to invest in the legendary Urban Decay Primer Potion. I would go into detail, you all know the score - creaseless shadow that lasts all day, yes please!

And what would this blog be without a picture for fun sake :)

Im happy with my shadows, although I love my MAC shadows even more :):):):):) but I'm slowly but surely building my collection!

So I went to MAC...

So yesterday I took my first ever trip to a MAC store. Unfortunately we do not have the priviledge of having a MAC store in Aberdeen at the moment, I know it sucks! The closest stores are in Glasgow and Edinburgh, which are both around a two and a half car journey away - that's if you don't get lost on the way...damn theose crazy spagetti motorways!

Anyways, I had made a list of everything I wanted to look at in the store, a very very long list I may add, as I knew it would be a while before I could convince my boyfriend to drive me down to look at the products again.

I had already decided before I went down that i wanted to purchase the 15 shadow palette, a few eyeshadows and possibly a lipstick, depending on the bank funds of course.

I was swatching away happily and decided on two eyeshadows and a lipstick.

Here is my very much loved makeup palette complete with MAC's woodwinked and tempting shadows alongside my lipstick, MAC Hue.

Tempting is a medium to dark brown with shimmers, great for creating smokey brown eyes. I was a little disappointed in how little would pick up on my brush but a few swipes with the brush covers my lid, I'm just lazy and like a one swipe application but then again it could just be my shadow brush.

Woodwinked is a gold/coppery brown colour with shimmers. This colour is gorgeous, it is very richly pigmented and one swipe of the brush picks up enough colour for my whole lid! I can see this colour becoming a slight obsession...

And here are the swatches :) Woodwinked is on the top, tempting is on the bottom :)

Hue is a glaze lipstick meaning it is very glossy on the lips but not too heavily pigmented. I was undecided as to whether to purchase Hue or Creme de Nude but the boyfriend liked Hue better. It is a beautiful nude/pink/coral colour however it can be quite drying after its been on the lips for a while but a little bit of carmex before application sorts that out. Here is a pic of what it looks like on the lips.

Here is the look I created with my new shadows :) I got the idea from lollipop26's tempting eyes tutorial off of youtube :)
